PROJECTS
MENTAL HEALTH PROJECT
Through its goals and operations, Hibiscus Foundation for Social Welfare constantly reiterates the importance of providing accessible mental health for everyone. Through the Mental Health Project, HFSW works to promote systemic awareness, support the use of effective mental health practices, raise awareness on when to seek help, shatter myths and stigmas associated with mental health, and reduce illnesses. Mental Health is as important as physical health as health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. Additionally, we are also members of the World Health Organisation's Civil Society Commission since 2024.
MENTAL HEALTH AND GENDER EQUALITY PROJECT
Gender equality is essential for achieving essential global goals: reducing inequalities in opportunities, providing universal education, eradicating poverty, and ensuring affordable clean drinking water and accessible sanitation. The Gender Equality Project ensures gender equality at all levels and every step of life through workshops, seminars, and support group sessions. They even conduct events that promote systematic awareness on gender equality sensitisation, LGBTQIA+ awareness, empowerment and leadership programs for women and other marginalised communities, and are a Commitment Marker to the Action Coalition to the UN Women’s Generation Equality Project. In fact, we are proud to say we have achieved our commitments ahead of schedule.
MENTAL HEALTH AND HUMAN RIGHTS PROJECT
Legal consultation in terms of human rights are often confusing and hidden behind doors of complicated procedures and legal language. No matter where you are or who you are, there are places where you may need help or guidance when you do not know where to seek restitution. We at Hibiscus Foundation present our Human Rights Project to you, which aims to offer legal awareness on two fronts. The first is providing legal counselling to those who require it in terms of humanitarian affairs and violence, (we would like to stress that we only provide legal counselling, and we do not provide litigation support) and the second is providing awareness on the basic and essential rights that every individual has which are imparted through our service.
Youth & Mental Health Project
At Hibiscus Foundation for Social Welfare (HFSW), we believe in creating spaces for the youth in our society to voice their concerns and recommendations for a better and sustainable future. Youth summits are inclusive and dynamic gatherings that provide a platform for the youth to learn about social issues, collaborate with other individuals, amplify their voices and foster their participation in shaping the future. Also, as a youth run organisation, we engage in youth training as well. We are proud members of the United Nations Major Groups for Children and Youth (UNMGCY),
MENTAL HEALTH AND NO TOBACCO PROJECT
Hibiscus Foundation for Social Welfare (HFSW) works actively towards creating a lasting impact by educating and creating awareness among young adolescents to inspire change in society. The foundation through its diverse projects empowers adolescents against exploitations and influences driven by tobacco industries. The campaign evidently grew multifold with the subsequent workshop ‘World No Tobacco Day’ bringing together over 20000+ students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds (different vernaculars) and from various schools to discuss and create awareness on the industrial tactics employed by tobacco companies to manipulate the market and create demand through addiction.
